Major General Md Wahid Uz Zaman, BSP (BAR), ndc,aowc,psc,te (Retired) is currently serving as the Managing Director of an AI solution developer private limited company and Senior Advisor of Centre for Advanced Computing and Research (CACR) in Military Institute of Science and Technology (MIST). Imbued with outstanding leadership capabilities, the General has vast experience in administration & management of the Government, Defence and Academic world. His principal expertises are in the arena of Information and Communication Technology, Cyber Security and Artificial Intelligence (AI). He has specialization on large scale project planning, implementation and management.
He served 37 (thirty-seven) years of colourful active service in Bangladesh Army and held almost all types of command, staff and instructional appointments as appropriate to his level. Few notables are: Commandant (Vice Chancellor) Military Institute of Science and Technology (MIST), Director IT Directorate Army Headquarters, Director Trust Bank Ltd, Director General Bangladesh Telecomm Regulatory Commission, Commander 86 Independent Signal Brigade, Chief Communication and IT Officer at UN Mission in Congo and UN Observer in Croatia. He was awarded with the ‘Bishisto Seba Padak’ (BSP) twice from the Honourable President of Bangladesh for excellence in army service.
Graduated from Jawaharlal Nehru University, India with First Class in Electronics and Communication Engineering, he has also earned three Postgraduate Degrees including a Gold Medal in Master in Information System Security (Cyber Security) from BUP. He has attended Higher Defence Courses like: National Defence Course (NDC), War Course and Army Staff Course. He received best research paper award in NDC, title “Bracing Artificial Intelligence for Socio-economic Development: Opportunities and Challenges for Bangladesh”, and has also received best research paper award in Staff Course at Mirpur. The General has published over hundred professional books, pamphlets, précis and articles to his credit.
He led number of teams to design and develop software including secured messenger mobile Apps for Bangladesh Army. He established the Cyber Gym at MIST, formulated Electronic Warfare and Cyber Security Policy for Bangladesh Army etc.
He has extensive overseas exposure in diverse international environment. In addition to service under Blue Helmet, he also has visited more than 30 (thirty) countries to attend meetings, conferences, seminars, workshops, training etc; and as a technical expert he also led team to China, France, USA, Spain, Germany, Australia, UK, Czech Republic, Switzerland and South Korea.
An avid golfer, he lives a happy family life and blessed with a son and a daughter.

Mr. Habibullah N Karim is the founder and CEO of Technohaven Co. Ltd. an independent software company and IT solutions provider.
Mr. Karim was a full member of the Bangladesh Prime Minister’s ICT Task Force between 2001-03 and 2008-10. He helped found the Bangladesh Association of Software & Information Services, where he served as founding secretary-general and was elected president twice. Mr. Karim was the Convener of the Working Group of the national ICT Policy Review Committee and is the principal author of the Bangladesh ICT Policy 2009. He is a columnist for the most popular English dailies and has co-authored a book titled “Going Digital – Realizing The Dreams of a Digital Bangladesh for All” published by the University Press Ltd in 2011. Mr. Karim has a BSEE degree from Yale University (USA) and attended an executive program at the Stanford University Graduate School of Business.
Ms. Sultana Afroz

Ms. Sultana Afroz is a former Secretary to the Government of Bangladesh, and former CEO of Public Private Partnership Authority (PPPA) in the Prime Minister’s Office. She began her journey in the Bangladesh Civil Service, Administration Cadre in December 1989, marking the commencement of her dedicated service to the nation.
Throughout her illustrious career, Ms. Afroz held several key positions. She served as Additional Secretary and Chief of the United Nations Wing and Nordic Wing at the Economic Relations Division (ERD) in the Ministry of Finance. Her diplomatic experience included serving as the Economic Counsellor in the Bangladesh Embassy in Rome, Italy, where she also acted as the Alternate Permanent Representative of Bangladesh to Rome-based United Nations Headquarters, including FAO, IFAD, and WFP. Notably, Ms. Afroz’s exceptional leadership skills led to her election as a member of the UN FAO Programme Committee during the 138th and 142nd Sessions of the FAO Council in 2009 and 2011, respectively, representing Asia. These accomplishments marked Bangladesh’s significant role in this critical FAO governing body, with the nation assuming the Vice Chair position.
Ms. Afroz also made her mark on the international stage as an Executive Board Director of the International Fund for Agricultural Development (IFAD). Her dedication extended to the role of Charge d’Affaires at the Bangladesh Embassy in Rome, Italy.
In addition to her diplomatic roles, Ms. Afroz contributed to various capacities in field administration and government ministries, notably as a core group member of the Government of Bangladesh Private Sector Development Project (PSD), aimed at fostering private sector growth in the country. Her career path also included a consultancy position at the Small-Scale Water Sector Development Project (SSWSDP), funded by the Asian Development Bank, and roles as a Programme Officer at the Center for Applied Policy Research (CAPRE), funded by the Ford Foundation, as well as the Management Development Unit (MDU), administered by the World Bank and UNFPA.
Ms. Afroz’s educational background is equally impressive, with a master’s degree in public administration from the Kennedy School of Government (KSG), Harvard University, USA. She also holds MSS and BSS (Honors) degrees in Sociology from the University of Dhaka. She further enhanced her expertise through executive courses in Public Policy, Service Delivery, and Negotiation at Duke University, USA, and a Negotiation and Leadership Award course at Macquarie University, Australia.
A well-traveled individual, Ms. Afroz actively participated in numerous international conferences and served as a resource person both in home and abroad. Her commitment to knowledge sharing is evident through her roles as the Vice President of the Bangladesh Knowledge Forum, Vice President of the National Advisory Board for Impact Investment for Bangladesh. Ms. Afroz continues to contribute as Policy Advisor to the USAID-funded Ecosystems Protibesh project demonstrating her unwavering dedication to public service and international collaboration.
Mr. Md. Jamal Uddin, FCMA

Prof. Jamal has a good number of publications covering capital market, e-governance, knowledge management, online lending, corporate social innovation, and SMEs to his credit in Bangladesh and abroad. He attended many conferences, seminars, workshops, and symposiums at home and abroad. Beside his teaching and research exposure, he served as a member of Chittagong University Teachers’ Association Executive Committee-2019 and held a few other prestigious positions in the University.
Having 21 years of experience, Dr. Jamal has gained corporate experience working in his earlier career in financial sector and corporate industrial sector. Also, he is the founder of SME Helpline Bangladesh Ltd. (an SME Social Innovation for providing advisory services for business development and support services for capacity building to SMEs) established in 2009.
Mr. Md. Mostafizur Rahaman

Mr. Sohel is one of the pioneers of Bangladesh ICT industry who has made Enterprise Resource solutions popular in the country. He has kept himself engaged in the continuous development of the ICT industry and eco system. He has been a key contributor in GRP, the first ever E-Government ERP Project initiated by Government of Bangladesh.
Mr. Sohel is very much active in international ICT circuit to represent Bangladesh and has been playing a significant role for ICT Development. He is a board member of ‘Business for eTrade Development’ – the premier private sector voice for optimizing public policies and aid allocations for ecommerce development and fuelling cross-border ecommerce worldwide that was launched alongside the UNCTAD-led ‘eTrade for All’ initiative.

In his 18 years career with the University, he has assumed different administrative roles and has served in numerous academic and administrative committees of the University. Professor Khan has also served in various evaluation and recruitment committees of Bangladesh Bank, Bangladesh Election Commission, ICT Division of the Government of the People’s Republic of Bangladesh, Ministry of Home Affairs, Ministry of Defense, Ministry of Fisheries and Livestock etc. He is the founding Director of the ICT Cell at the University of Dhaka.
Dr. Mohammad Tareq
Dr. Mohammad Tareq is a Professor of Accounting & Information Systems at the University of Dhaka. He has worked for over a decade as a consultant in the areas of financial markets, mobile banking, small and medium enterprise development, project appraisal and implementation among others. He has worked as a consultant in projects undertaken by agencies including ILO, BGMEA, World Bank, FES (Germany), SME Foundation, Ministry of Labour and Employment of the People’s Republic of Bangladesh, Ministry of Industries of the People’s Republic of Bangladesh and Bangladesh Bank. He is an active researcher and has presented papers in conferences in the USA, UAE, Japan, Thailand, Azerbaijan among others. Two of his papers received best paper award, one from a conference in UAE and the other one from a conference held in Azerbaijan. His papers are published in reputed local and international journals e.g Pacific-Basin Finance Journal, Japanese Journal of Administrative Science, Japanese Psychological Research, International Journal of Accounting and Information Management among others. He has also written several book chapters which are published by famous international publishers like Springer International Publisher, Routledge (a British multinational publisher) and so on. He has served in numerous academic and corporate committees.

Farhad Ahmed joined Central Counterparty Bangladesh Limited (CCB) as its first Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer on January 3, 2021 after his retirement from Bangladesh Securities and Exchange Commission (BSEC).
At BSEC, he worked as a Departmental Head of Surveillance, Research & Development, Management Information Systems, Supervision & Regulations of Markets and Issuer Companies, Capital Issue, Enforcement, Central Depository System, Law, Administration & Finance, International Affairs and Supervision & Regulation of Intermediaries departments.
From the BSEC side, he was associated with the Central Depository project from inception up to its commercial operation. During his tenure as departmental head of the capital Issues department, Grameen Phone, a subsidiary of Telenor took listing at both Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) and Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE) after its initial public offer of 70 million US$. He was also involved in Demutualization of stock exchanges, approval process of strategic investment of DSE with Shanghai & Shenzhen stock exchanges and signing of IOSCO Multilateral Memorandum of Understanding (MMoU) as head of different committees created by BSEC for these purposes.
During 2015- 2017 he worked as an Enforcement and Cooperation Advisor of International Organization of Securities Commissions (IOSCO) in Madrid, Spain on secondment from BSEC.
He was a part-time faculty member of American International University of Bangladesh (AIUB) in its MBA Program during 2007 – 2014.
After obtaining graduation and post-graduation from the Department of Finance, University of Dhaka, he started his carrier with a private sector insurance company in 1986.

Dr. Abdullah Al Mahmud is an expert in capital market. His home district is in Faridpur. He is currently serving as a Professor at Department of Banking and Insurance in the University of Dhaka. He has been doing research in capital market area. He has extensively studied capital market of Bangladesh and have published many Journal articles in the arena. Dr. Mahmud did his Bachelor of Business Administration in Finance and Banking and Master of Business Administration in Banking from university of Dhaka with perfect CGPA (4.00 on a 4.00 point scale). He was awarded Prime Minister Gold Medal for achieving outstanding results at University of Dhaka. Dr. Mahmud was also awarded prestigious Fulbright Scholarship from United States Department of State to pursue higher studies at USA. Dr. Mahmud did MBA in International finance and M.Sc. in International Economics and Finance with distinction from Brandeis University, USA. Dr. Mahmud earned his PhD in International Economics and Finance with a dissertation
focused on ‘Empirical Corporate Finance and Capital Market Structure’ from Brandeis University, USA. In addition, he also participated in several academic and Professional trainings in finance and banking arena at home and abroad.
Dr. Mahmud’s research interest is in the area of internal structure of capital market, empirical corporate finance, empirical entrepreneurial finance, and topics in applied game theory. His recent research has focused on various aspects of the initial public offerings (IPOs) and seasoned issues of equity (SEOs); various aspects of venture capital; empirical topics in capital structure; theoretical and empirical topics in corporate governance and finally, various topics of financial asset pricing in financial market. Dr. Mahmud has published several empirical articles in the above and other topics in the prominent domestic and international journals. Dr. Mahmud participated in several domestic and international academic conferences. He presented scholarly paper in the Northeast Decision Sciences Institute Conference, USA, Financial Management Association Conference, USA, and Doctoral Student Presentation in the American finance Association Conference, USA. He is also serving as reviewer of several national and international journals. He has served on the program committees of many national and international finance conferences. His research was supported by various national and international grants such as SME foundation and Rosenberg Research Grant from the Rosenberg Institute of Global Finance at Brandeis International Business School, USA.
Dr. Mahmud taught various courses on finance and economics such as fixed income securities, corporate finance, portfolio management, Financial Institutions and Market, Financial Modeling, Financial Engineering. Options and Derivatives, Advanced Derivatives, financial economics, Insurance and Risk Management, Development Economics, and Microeconomics. Dr. Mahmud also worked as an adjunct faculty in the reputed national and international universities such as Daffodils International University, United International University, Boston College (USA), Harvard Summer School of Harvard university (USA), and Brandeis University (USA). He served as an Associate Director of Master of Tax Management Program, Department of Banking and Insurance, University of Dhaka. Dr. Mahmud was a research associate at the Boston Research Data Center of the Center for Economic Studies of the U.S. Census Bureau and the National Bureau of Economic Research, USA.

Mr. Asif Ibrahim

Asif Ibrahim was born in Dhaka, Bangladesh in the year 1965. He received his formal education from the University of Delhi (India) and the University of North Texas (USA). Mr. Ibrahim is the Vice Chairman of Newage Group of Industries, a business house involved mainly in manufacturing and exporting ready -made garments, textiles and plastic products. The Ministry of Commerce of the Government of Bangladesh awarded him the Commercially Important Person (CIP) status in the year 2007, 2012 and 2014 for his contribution in national export.
Mr. Asif Ibrahim is the former President (2011-2012) of Dhaka Chamber of Commerce and Industry (DCCI), the largest SME Trade Body of Bangladesh. He is the Former Founder Chairman (2012-2015) of Business Initiative Leading Development (BUILD), a Public Private Dialogue platform to expedite the policy reforms to enable private sector led economic growth of Bangladesh. Mr. Ibrahim served as a board member of Federation of Bangladesh Chamber of Commerce and Industry (2012-2015) and was the Chairman of the Privatization Standing Committee of FBCCI.
Mr. Ibrahim is a Director of Bangladesh Garments Manufactures and Exporters Association (BGMEA) and Bangladesh Thai Chamber of Commerce and Industry (BTCCI). Mr. Ibrahim is a member of UNESCAP Sustainable Business Network (ESBN) and is the Chairman of the UNESCAP Sustainable Business Network Taskforce on Disaster and Climate Risk Reduction.
He was also a member of the Executive Committee of Bangladesh Employers’ Federation (BEF) and a Director of Bangladesh Philippines Chamber of Commerce and Industry (BPCCI)). He has previously been in the Board of France Bangladesh Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CCIFB).
Mr. Ibrahim is a member of the Board of Advisers for BRAC Business School (BBS) under BRAC University. He is also a Core Committee member of the Eminent Citizen’s platform to implement the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) in Bangladesh.
He was also the President (2016-2018) of Bangladesh Professional Golfers’ Association (BPGA).

Mr. Anis A. Khan

Anisuddin Ahmed Khan (Anis A. Khan) is a distinguished banker and financial professional of Bangladesh. In addition to his involvement with Central Counterparty Bangladesh Limited (CCBL), he serves as an Independent Director of Summit Power Limited and a number of its group of companies. He is a Director of ACI Limited, ACI Motors Limited and W&W Grains. He is an Independent Director of Trust Bank Limited, Summit Alliance Port Limited (SAPL) and Ananta Apparels Limited.
Khan serves as Vice Chairman of Aspen Capital Solutions LLC, New York, USA. He is Advisor to the Board of Tyser Risk Management Bangladesh Limited (TRMBL), a subsidiary of Tysers UK. He is a member of the Global Advisory Board of 360tf Trade, an international fin-tech company operating in the trade finance space.
Khan is a guest faculty at the Institute of Business Administration, University of Dhaka and also serves as an Adjunct Professor at the School of Business & Entrepreneurship of Independent University Bangladesh (IUB).
A Fellow of the Institute of Bankers Bangladesh (IBB), he has had 40 years of experience and training in banking and related fields. Khan, after serving Standard Chartered Bank (SCB) and its predecessor banks for 21 years, went on to head IDLC Finance Limited, the country’s largest (non-banking) financial institution as its CEO & Managing Director. Later, he joined Mutual Trust Bank Limited (MTB) in 2009 as the Managing Director & CEO, and retired in 2019 having served for nearly eleven years in that role.
He serves as Chairman of Valor of Bangladesh, Director of MCCI Dhaka, Trustee Board Member of the British Business Group in Bangladesh (BBG) and Senior Vice President of the Bangladesh Cancer Aid Trust (BANCAT).
Khan has LL.B. (Honors) and LL.M. (First Class First) degrees, a Diploma in French (First Class) from the University of Dhaka and a Post Graduate Diploma in Personnel Management. He also qualified in the BCS (1982) Examination conducted by the Bangladesh Public Service Commission. He has attended training courses on leadership, corporate governance and strategic management at the University of Cambridge, UK, INSEAD, France, University of California, Berkeley, USA and at the London School of Economics, UK.
